n8n + WhatsApp Integration
Self-hosted or n8n Cloud HTTP workflows on official WhatsApp Cloud API — templates, webhooks, and long-tail apps. Not a WhatsApp Web node, not a replacement for the BSP inbox.
n8n is open-source workflow glue. WhatsApp business messaging is Meta Cloud API. Connect them with an HTTP Request node to Graph API or the Ominiflow send endpoint, using approved templates and E.164 numbers. Do not install community nodes that drive WhatsApp Web — those ban.
Use n8n for apps without a native Ominiflow connector, multi-step waits, and internal tools. Skip it for Shopify cart/COD and Zoho stage triggers — those are native. Full recipe: n8n WhatsApp integration guide.
Ominiflow remains the WABA, inbox, quality rating, and Meta-at-cost layer. Self-hosting n8n does not make you a BSP and does not waive Meta template fees.
