WhatsApp Desktop is the official Windows and macOS app that links to your phone number — not a second WhatsApp account. Download it from WhatsApp, scan the QR code, and type on a laptop. It is the same linked-device model as WhatsApp Web, with a dock icon instead of a browser tab. It will not give a shop a team inbox. It will let you post a Status from a laptop and answer chats with a keyboard.
Download WhatsApp Desktop the safe way
- On the computer, open whatsapp.com/download (or the Microsoft Store / Mac App Store listing published by WhatsApp).
- Install. Ignore “WhatsApp Desktop Pro” and random APK sites. Those are the same family as GB WhatsApp.

Post WhatsApp Status from a laptop
